Spring is here and the City of Brookings is accepting nominations from the public for its 16th Annual Yard of the Month awards program.
“This program is such a great way to recognize City of Brookings business and property owners who go to great lengths to make their property look attractive, and by so doing, make the City as a whole look better,” said Mayor Pieper.
The Yard of the Month program, which began in 2002, recognizes the most attractive residential and commercial properties inside the City limits, May through September.
Monthly award recipients receive a $50 credit on their water bill or annual business license fee, a commemorative certificate and a sign posted at their property declaring their award-winning status.
“I am glad the City of Brookings gives out these awards,” Mayor Pieper said. “It definitely benefits us all.”
