A strong ridge of high pressure has established over the area and afternoon high temperatures will gradually increase as the week goes on.
Hot weather is expected Wednesday through Friday. Then, a low will approach from the south and bring enough moisture and energy for showers and thunderstorms for much of the forecast area late Friday into Saturday.
Significant rainfall is possible on Saturday, most likely from the Cascades westward.
