Just before 10:00pm October 3rd, Eureka Police Department officers were dispatched to a gas station regarding a report of a female inside demanding “all the money” from the store clerk according to a press release from the Eureka Police Department.
After being denied by the store clerk, the suspect briefly left the store, but returned moments later. Upon her return, she had armed herself with a long orange roadway marker and held it in a threatening manner. The suspect then walked behind the counter and began grabbing packs of cigarettes. The suspect then fled the business.
An officer arrived on scene moments later and was directed to the rear of the business, being told that this was the location the suspect had fled.
The suspect was located by the officer behind the store and attempted to stop her but she continued to flee on foot into Fort Humboldt park property.
Once in the park, the suspect attempted to strike the officer. After a brief struggle and the deployment of (Oleoresin Capsicum) O.C. pepper spray, the suspect was taken into custody.
She was transported to St. Joseph Hospital by City Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries and O.C. pepper spray exposure.
The suspect, identified as 34 year old Adrianne Murphy of Tucson, Arizona, was taken into custody on charges of robbery and resisting arrest. She was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and is being held on $45,000 bail.
This is an ongoing investigation and further details will be released if appropriate.
