Woman Arrested for Stabbing and Beating an 87 year old Woman is Admitted to Gold Beach Hospital after Pursuit

An investigation into an attempted murder was initiated by Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives regarding the beating and stabbing of an 87 year old woman Monday, May 30th in Talent, Oregon. The female suspect, who was known to the victim, stabbed and beat the 87 year old female victim before stealing her car and fleeing the scene.

A concerned relative discovered the victim around 9:00am Tuesday morning when the woman failed to show up for a daily coffee date. The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

After fleeing the scene in the victim’s stolen car, the suspect, 47 year old Christy Robertson, drove to the coast and crashed while attempting to elude authorities.

She was then transported and admitted to the hospital in Gold Beach under Oregon State Police guard until Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrived and transported her to the Jackson County Jail.

47 year old Christy Robertson of Keizer, Oregon., has been charged with attempted murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon.

The case is under investigation and will be prosecuted by the Jackson County District Attorney’s office. No further information is available for release.
