Medford Police Officers were dispatched to reports of a stabbing Tuesday morning, August 29th, near West 6th Street and Central Avenue in downtown Medford just after 10:00am.
First arriving officers found that a 53 year old man had been walking with a 6 year old female family member when they were approached by an unknown adult woman.
The adult woman, identified as 32 year old Marjan Ezzati, started making nonsensical statements and then produced a knife, stabbing the man in the hip.
Initially Ezzati walked away from the scene and was located a short distance away by responding officers after a local business employee confronted Ezzati.
Ezzati was arrested and transported to the Medford Police Department where she was interviewed by detectives before being lodged at the Jackson County Jail on charges of Assault 2 and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
The victim was transported to a local medical facility to be treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. The minor child was not physically harmed.
