Winter Art & Chocolate Festival

It is time once again for the annual Winter Art & Chocolate Festival here in Brookings-Harbor! The festival takes place each year the weekend before Valentine’s Day and this year that happens to be February 10th-11th, just days away! This event is family friendly and really brings the community together with fun activities and a wonderful atmosphere.

Some of this year’s vendors are new and some are returning favorites. One returning vendor that has been at the show every single year is Coastal Mist Fine Chocolates and Desserts. There’s something MAGICAL about what the people at Coastal Mist do… Maybe it’s the chocolate, the creativity, the attention to detail, or maybe it’s the just the FUN-CRAZY trio who pour their heart and soul into their work! Whatever it is, their creations are a culinary inspiration that one simply must experience because they taste even better than they look.

Also, a festival favorite, Brevin’s Solid Gold Fudge, will return to the Winter Art & Chocolate Festival to WOW your senses with 35 flavors of gourmet fudge! Stop by and sample their veritable smorgasbord of taste-bud-pleasing tastes. Owners, Dan and Suzy Sealy, are super friendly and will help you find the perfect flavor.

Eva Subias of “Swedish Handknit” isn’t just your garden-variety knitter. She started knitting as a young girl in Sweden and has a depth of skill and breadth of talent indicative of a life-long artisan, expressed exquisitely in her fine, handmade fashion statements.

There will be woodwork, pottery, spices and even tools! Michael Vaccaro will be selling his hand-crafted survival tools, including knives, axes and outdoor gear. For the kids, there’s a balloon man and cotton candy. There will be metal art, handmade soaps, lavender and skincare products, honey products, herbal remedies, scarves, leather, tie-dye clothing, beautifully sewn aprons, and of course, LOTS of chocolate!

Annette Trujillo is one of the artists who will be selling her dazzling work at Kalmiopsis Elementary School. Her creations really speak for themselves, quietly making a statement of elegance and a subtle connection with nature. Annette is always going out into nature, soaking up it’s juxtaposed wildness and serenity and it is evident in her work.

Come watch fiber artist, Annie, making wearable art made of soft comfortable cotton, woven by hand in inspired colors. Annie has been creating and selling beautiful, handwoven garments under the Shuttle Creek name since 2007. Her technical foundations were provided by a 25-year association with her sister’s weaving business. Annie has now taken off with new designs, new colors and new business practices bringing her inspired creations for sale to you.

Creations for you will return once again with their flavored balsamic bottles of vinegar and sauces. There will be local authors, colorful quilted items, jewelry, puffed corn and barbeque sauces, chip dips and samples from Mrs. Britts and so much more!
