Grants Pass 911 Communications received reports of a structure fire at an address on SW Hall St. early Wednesday evening, just before 6:30pm.
First responding Grants Pass Fire units were on scene within five minutes, driving up upon a heavily involved two story home.

Due to wind and other homes being threatened Battalion Chief 4 The blaze was promptly upgraded to a second alarm by Battalion Chief 4 due to wind and other homes being threatened, bringing in additional resources.

As the incident evolved a 3rd alarm was requested bringing a total of 8 other departments, including Rural Metro Fire, Grants Pass Police Department, Illinois Valley Fire District, AMR, Evans Valley Fire, Jackson County Fire District #1, and Applegate Valley Fire.

The fire spread to a total of 3 properties damaging other homes, vehicles, and out buildings.
Two firefighters were treated and released at the scene for heat related injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
