Wildfire Quickly Controlled

Just after 8:00 pm Saturday evening, the Illinois Valley Fire District responded with the Oregon Department of Forestry to a wildland fire on Suncrest Rd.

The relatively small blaze was controlled rather quickly after arriving on the scene. One Illinois Valley Fire District firefighter received minor injuries after suffering numerous bee stings. The firefighter was treated on scene by an Illinois Valley Fire District emergency medical technician and was subsequently transported by ambulance to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center by American Medical Response.

Suncrest Road was closed for over an hour by Illinois Valley Fire District and Community Emergency Response team personnel for the protection of the Firefighters.
