Illinois Valley Fire District and other agencies, including Rural Metro Fire, and the Oregon Department of Forestry were dispatched to reports of a structure fire just after 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, September 28th, off of Holland Loop Rd, in Cave Junction.
First arriving units reported heavy smoke and upon arrival discovered a fully involved single story structure with visible flames from all sides of the building.
The fire was quickly knocked down and ultimately extinguished and units were on scene for an extended period of time as mop up progressed and no there was no further fire danger to surrounding wildland.
The American Red Cross has been notified to assist the needs of the home owner.
