On Sunday, May 2nd, a Josephine County Sheriff’s Deputy came upon the scene of a violent vehicle crash near Wonder on Hwy. 199 just before 5:30am.
Initial investigation by the Oregon State Police revealed that the truck left the roadway rolling several times, ejecting both occupants and striking a utility pole.
Initial care of the victims was initiated by the Sheriff’s Deputy before first responders from Rural Metro Fire and Rescue, Grants Pass Fire and Rescue, the Oregon State Police and American Medical Response could get to the scene. Both occupants were ultimately transported Rogue Regional Medical Center.
Highway 199 was reduced to one lane for several hours as the scene was cleared and the Oregon State Police conducted an investigation of the crash scene.
