Just before 5:00pm, early Wednesday evening, July 26th, Medford Police Officers were dispatched to reports regarding a motor vehicle crash in which a vehicle had struck a residence at the intersection of Bronte Circle and Springbrook Road.
First responding officers arrived on scene within minutes, finding that a silver 2008 Nissan Altima had left the roadway at what appeared to be a high rate of speed and collided with a residence.
The residents were home at the time of the crash, however, no one in the home was injured.
Further investigation by Officers revealed that the vehicle was being driven by a 16 year old with a 15-year-old passenger.
Based on statements and behavior at the scene, initially it did not appear there were any major injuries to either of the juveniles, however, the 15 year old was taken to a local medical facility by family and flown outside of the Rogue Valley for treatment after finding the teen to have injuries that were more serious than initially thought.
It is believed that speed was a factor in this crash and other causes are still under investigation, and ue to the passenger’s injury and the circumstances surrounding the event, members of the Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team are conducting an investigation, which continues on at this time.
There has been no update on the teens condition at this time and due to the ages of the involved parties, no names will be released.
