October 10, at 7:30pm Illinois Valley Fire District responded to a single vehicle crash into Lake Selmac off of Reeves Creek Rd. The driver was unhurt and was able to get out of the vehicle and sit on the hood.
When the vehicle started to sink, the driver swam to shore. Per the drivers comment he was trying to miss deer.
When Jerry’s Towing arrived on scene one of the drivers stripped down and swam out to the vehicle and hooked the tow cable to the vehicle. Traffic control was provided by Illinois Valley Fire District CERT.
