Valley Air Quality Advisories Continue, Changes to Start Along Coast

A stable air mass over the area will continue through this weekend for most of the southern Oregon and northern California resulting in light winds, and limited mixing. Many valleys will continue to see poor air quality through Sunday night. Overnight and morning valley fog is expected in the Illinois, Umpqua, and Rogue Valleys, but could occur in any of the regions valleys and low lying areas.

Inland, Air Quality Advisories remain in effect and will continue through out the weekend as the mass of high pressure slowly moves to the east. Lack of air movement will keep most low lying areas blanketed in fog and low clouds, keeping temperatures cool. High temperatures are forecast to be in the mid 50’s, with lows in the low to mid 30’s in some locations.

Coastal areas are forecast to see clouds increase Friday, as the ridge of high pressure leaves the region. The increased clouds will bring a very slight possibility of precipitation Friday night, clearing to partly cloudy skies before the next chance of precipitation enters the southern Oregon, northern California area Sunday evening. Temperatures along the coast are expected to remain relatively mild with early morning lows in the mid 40’s and highs in the upper 50’s.
