Early Monday morning, August 12th, the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay received an emergency call from the tugboat Cape Ann off the Coast of Eureka, regarding a crewmember experiencing serious symptoms including abdominal pain.

U.S. Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay dispatched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew to rendezvous with the Cape Ann approximately 28 miles off the coast.

Upon arrival the aircrew boarded the vessel and evaluated the 35-year-old male before medically evacuating the individual from the moving vessel and transferring the patient to emergency medical services in Eureka.
