Late Thursday evening August 13th, U.S. Coast Guard sector Chetco River dispatched a 47-ft. motor lifeboat crew to a distressed vessel off the coast of Brookings, Oregon.

The 67 ft. sailing vessel was located 30 nautical miles off the coast with 8-12 ft. seas and 30 knot winds.

After locating the disabled vessel, the motor lifeboat crew escorted the sailing vessel for 14 hours, ultimately securing the vessel safely into the Port of Crescent City, California.
