Close to noon on Wednesday, the Brookings Fire Department was dispatched to a reported head-on crash involving 2 semi trucks near the entrance to Whaleshead Resort on Highway 101 about 8 miles north of Brookings.
One of the trucks was loaded with logs and the other was empty.
Fortunately, this was a minor injury accident and both drivers were able to self extricate from their vehicles. Both drivers were checked by a Cal-Ore Life Flight ground ambulance crew and refused transport by medical personnel.
The Brookings Fire Department was there assisting The Cape Ferello Fire Department along with the Oregon State Police, Curry County Sheriff’s Department, ODOT and South Coast Lumber.
