On October 4th, the Grants Pass Police were notified regarding an internal investigation into the embezzlement of funds at Asante, Three Rivers Medical Center.
According to the evidence gathered, two employees conspired to submit fraudulent reimbursement requests to take money from the company. The investigation revealed between the months of May, 2020 and September, 2020, about $33,000 had been taken from the company.
On October 5, 2020, Grants Pass Police contacted Melissa Rumfalo and Tania Cheng regarding this case. Following interviews with both subjects, the two were arrested and lodged at the Josephine County Jail on multiple charges including Aggravated Theft, Criminal Conspiracy, Computer Crime..
