Two Arrested for Shooting Incident at Rogue Valley Mall

Two suspects were arrested on Thursday, May 5th, for their involvement in the shooting on April 23rd, at the Rogue Valley Mall.

On Sunday, April 24th, approximately 14 hours after the shooting, 18 year old Isael Telles-Cortes arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his hand. The wound was treated and he was released to Medford police detectives, who lodged him on an unrelated juvenile warrant.

Further investigation revealed that Telles-Cortes was in a fist fight with the juvenile victim, and after the fight, 20 year old Chavarin-Regalado provided Telles-Cortes with a handgun who immediately shot the victim several times, who remains in the hospital in good condition. During the shooting, it is believed Telles-Cortes shot himself in the hand.

On May 5th, detectives and officers executed two search warrants at the residences of the listed suspects and evidence was recovered from both scenes. Chavarin-Regalado was arrested at his residence without incident.

18 year old Isael Telles-Cortes, and 20 year old Braulio Chavarin-Regalado, have been charged with Attempted Murder, Assault in the 1st Degree, and Riot, and both are in custody at the Jackson County Jail. .
