After a thorough investigation, detectives have identified and arrested two suspects for the Murder and Robbery early Tuesday morning outside Rumors Lounge in Medford, earlier in the week.
Just before 2:00am, early Tuesday morning as reported earlier in the week, Medford Police officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing outside Rumors Lounge on N. Riverside Avenue.
An unresponsive female victim suffering from an apparent stab wound upon was discovered upon first responders arrival. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and the victim, now identified as 31 year old Brittany Lovrovich, was pronounced deceased at the scene. the two suspects.
Investigation revealed that at 1:47am, on March 22nd, 21 year old Hannah Marie Martin and her boyfriend, 30 year old Zachary Carl Helwagen, met the victim with the intent of robbing her of drugs, which was suspected to be Fentanyl. The victim met the suspects in the parking lot between Rumors and the OK Market, believing she was going to sell Fentanyl to the suspects. During the robbery, Martin stabbed the victim, who died on scene.
Both suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and suspected Fentanyl was recovered from the scene of the incident.
It was determined by detectives on Thursday, March 24th, that the suspects were at a residence in Williams, Oregon. While conducting surveillance on the residence, 30 year old Zachary Helwagen, was observed leaving in the same vehicle used during the murder and was taken into custody without incident after a traffic stop in Jacksonville, at 2:01pm Thursday afternoon.
Later that same Thursday afternoon, detectives contacted 21 year old Hannah Martin at the residence in question just before 3:00pm, before she also was arrested without incident.
During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Hannah Martin was involved in an unrelated, and unreported stabbing in the Medford / Jacksonville area, involving similar circumstances and Martin’s mugshot is provided to help with the identification of the additional criminal activity.
Both suspects were lodged in Jackson County Jail for Murder and Robbery, with no bail. Anyone with information on either case is asked to contact Detectives at 541-774-2297.
