Two Arrested After Crashing City of North Bend’s Thanksgiving Potluck Feast

An unexpected guest walked into City Hall as the City of North Bend gathered for their annual Thanksgiving Potluck Feast Wednesday afternoon, November 27th.

During the festivities, the gentleman stated he was there to “retrieve some personal items” left at the casino and, while waiting for assistance was kindly offered a plate of food.

As the item was being retrieved, it was discovered that the ‘item’ the gentleman stated he was there to ‘retrieve’ was a backpack filled with a large quantity of heroin and had been deposited in the North Bend Police evidence room.

A patrol officer was summoned to the scene and it was decided to let the unexpected guest enjoy his Thanksgiving meal before he was read his Miranda rights and arrested.

After claiming, “I don’t do drugs,” the gentleman’s female companion, waiting in the truck outside the station, was also arrested after a background check revealed she had outstanding warrants.
