Three Firefighters Injured in Hwy. 199 Crash

On Wednesday morning, July 10th, just after 10:30 am, Rural Metro Fire, American Medical Response-Josephine County & Illinois Valley Fire District responded to a 2-vehicle collision on Redwood Hwy near Hayes Hill.

According to the Oregon State Police, the crash temporarily blocked north and southbound traffic on Redwood Hwy. 199 near Hayes Hill. The crash occurred when a compact car crossed the median, striking an Oregon Dept of Forestry vehicle.

Three firefighters were transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The Oregon Department of Transportation was able to establish a detour for smaller vehicles until the roadway was cleared.
