Just before 11AM on 7-16-19 Fort Dick Fire Department responded with Smith River Fire, Pelican Bay Engine 49 and CalFire to a large fire on the beach off of North Indian Rd.
The fire, in heavy driftwood, took nearly two hours to fully extinguish. The cause was likely an unattended campfire from the previous day. Pelican Bay Engine 49 also responded and assisted w/ the fire.
Please be sure to completely extinguish any warming fire prior to leaving.
