Just before 9:30am, Friday morning, Medford Police responded to Royal Avenue and Stevens Street for a truck that had been driving recklessly, before striking a street sign and flipping over.
The driver took off on foot but citizens in the area chased him down and subdued him until authorities arrived on the scene.
The suspect, Aleksei Shatilov, 44, was determined to be intoxicated. During the investigation, the suspect injured an officer’s arm as he brought under control.
44 year old Shatilov was charged with DUII, Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and Assault on a Police Officer.
