Suspect Remains at Large After Short High-Speed Chase

Jackson County Sheriff Deputies attempted to stop an unlicensed motorcycle on Hwy. 62 late Tuesday evening resulting in the motorcycle accelerating quickly and a pursuit being initiated.

The pursuit lasted less than 15 seconds after the rider lost control of the motorcycle and struck a guardrail. The suspect then slid down the rock embankment to reach the river below.

36 year old Josh Glenn Hines

As he attempted to get away, the rider took off his helmet and was identified by Deputies as 36 year old Josh Glenn Hines before he jumped into the Rogue River and swam to the east side.

Hines was seen getting out of the river and running towards Old Ferry Rd. A perimeter was set up but the K-9 track was unsuccessful and Hines, who has an existing felony warrant as well as a suspended drivers license, remains at large.
