Better late than never, summer has arrived and high temperatures earlier in the week were it’s announcement as a very hot weekend is forecast for much of southern Oregon and northern California. The high pressure circulating off the coast continues to shift weather systems to the north, and keep skies clear allowing temperatures to climb significantly.
As a result, Heat Advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service for much of the region just off the coast. Inland areas such as the Illinois Valley, Grants Pass and Medford are expected to see high temperatures in the mid 100’s with night time lows offering relief from the high temperatures cooling the area in the low 60’s.
Along the coast, temperatures are forecast to be very warm, getting to the low 80’s Friday, however, cooling slightly as the weekend progresses only getting to the low to mid 70’s. Evening and early morning lows will cool the coast down the low to mid 50’s.
