Grants Pass Dept of Public Safety Police and Fire personnel responded to a report of a multiple vehicle crash. One victim had to be extricated from her vehicle by removing the roof. This patient was transported by AMR to Rogue Regional Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. A second victim was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center with less serious injuries.
The investigation revealed 2 vehicles were speed racing north on NE 7th St, when they
failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of NE E Street. One speed racing vehicle avoided the crash and continued north on NE 7th St at a high rate of speed and was not located.
The second racing vehicle crashed into two vehicles which were traveling west through the intersection. There was significant damage caused to the 3 involved vehicles, causing NE 7th St to be closed for approximately 3 hours. Troy Head, the driver of the vehicle which caused the crash, was arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail.
