The newest installment of the Brookings Les Schwab ‘Star Student Athlete’ is a second year sophomore lineman Ralph Cavazos from varsity head coach Shaun Bavaro’s Brookings Harbor High School football program.
With COVID-19 restrictions continuing to keep OSAA fall sports sidelined, staying in playing shape for any school sport lies solely with in the determination and dedication of the student athlete.
Sophomore Ralph Cavazos has been training at the positions of offensive and defensive lineman to be ready whenever competition begins, and his off-season effort and focus on detail has him emerging as a leader up front according to Coach Bavaro.
Cavazos has exhibited a great work ethic, being recognized as a hard worker who has dedicated himself to improving on his craft and has really exploded in the weight room.
“Ralph is a great kid to be around and we have been excited to see his growth on and off the field. We will definitely be relying on him this year in run our game.” Coach Bavaro told the Compass. “There is no limit to his potential of being a great teammate, player and a leader for the Bruins!” he went on to say.
Congratulations Ralph Cavazos, and we all look forward to watching lead the Bruins later this season.
