A weak unorganized approaching low pressure system will bring possible rain to the southern Oregon and northwest California coastal areas this week. Rain chances will begin to increase on Tuesday and Wednesday but should remain very light, overall.
Beneficial rainfall later in the work week should have a greater impact on fire suppression as the low pressure system moves over the region on Thursday and Friday.
A Smoke Air Quality Advisory has been issued. Wildfires burning in
the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to continue at unhealthy levels. Smoke from nearby wildfires continues to impact southwest Oregon and northern California. Dense smoke is expected at times in valleys in Douglas, Josephine, Jackson and western Siskiyou.
