Highway 101 was closed Monday morning after a slide partially blocked the highway at Last Chance Grade. Early reports were that traffic was being directed through periodically and that CalTrans was working diligently to clear the road and make it safe for traffic flow.
There are no reported injuries and they were able to let some cars through, however, CalTrans reported the road was open within a short period of time while flagging operations were underway as rock fall debris was removed.
Just before 5:00pm Monday evening, CalTrans announced that the slide had been removed and that the highway was open.
