Six All-League Honors for Bruins Baseball, with One Receiving All-State Recognition

With the 2022 school year complete, and all 2022 school sports programs complete, All-League selections for 3A-SD4 Special District 4 boys baseball have been released with six Bruins players garnering All-League honors, and one receiving All-State recognition.

Senior Pitcher, #16, Jason DeShon – First Team All-State – Pitcher – 3A-SD4 Special District 4
First Team All-League – Pitcher

DeShon, a right handed pitcher and infielder for coach Wallin this past season, went 3-3 from the mound for the Bruins, striking out 59 batters, throwing a perfect game in the teams season opener, and followed that up with a no-hitter in his next start on the hill. “Jason has worked so hard for 4 years. He has been a first team all state pitcher because of all his work and dedication and we couldn’t be more proud of him.” Head Coach Keith Wallin said.

Junior Infielder, #15, Seth Valliere – 2nd team – infielder – 3A-SD4 Special District 4

“So much raw talent it’s scary. He continues to refine his craft everyday and his passion for the sport is second to none. We can’t wait to see what he can do his senior year.”

Junior infielder , Kallen Christensen, #12, – 2nd team – infielder – 3A-SD4 Special District 4

“Kallen Has played 3 different positions in 3 years” coach Wallin told the Compass, “and is turning into a really solid and fundamentally sound infielder. His focus is at an all time high, and his bat has come through in a ton of huge situations for us. A true leader on and off the field.”

Junior, Kyle Burger, #5, – 2nd team – utility – 3A-SD4 Special District 4

“The true definition of a utility player. He truly can, and has over the last 3 years, played just about every position.” coach Walling said. “He really came into his own on the mound this year and worked his tail off at third to solidify his spot there. His senior year is going to be a special one, and we look forward to great things out of him.”

Sophomore 1st baseman, Ethan Orman, #22, – honorable mention – 1st base – 3A-SD4 Special District 4

Head Coach Keith Wallin told the Compass that “Ethan has really turned into a great 1st baseman. He’s gone from a kid hoping he can earn a starting spot to a young man who expects to have a spot and contribute at a very high level, and everyone loves watching him play 1st.”

Sophomore catcher, Spencer Rosenberg, #28, – honorable mention – catcher- 3A-SD4 Special District 4

“As a sophomore, in a league with many really great catchers, this truly is a high praise honor for him.” Wallin said. “His hard work is really starting to get recognized and we can’t wait to watch him grow 2 more years.”
