Rural Metro Fire responded to a single-vehicle crash Monday evening and first responders arriving on the scene found a single vehicle about 20′ over the embankment, fully involved.
The adult female occupant was found below the vehicle, approximately 50′ from the roadway. It was unclear if she was self-extricated or ejected. The fire had spread to about 1/10th acre of brush trees.
The fire was quickly knocked down, and the occupant was hauled up to the roadway using a rope system. She was transferred by AMR-Josephine County to a Mercy Flights for air-transport to Medford with serious injuries.
ODF Southwest Oregon District, Oregon State Police, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and Caveman Towing Inc assisted at the scene.
