On Saturday night, December 19th, Medford Police Officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Crater Lake Avenue. Before the vehicle eluded, the officer heard what sounded like a gunshot. During the pursuit, a shotgun was thrown from the vehicle.
With the assistance of Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was finally successfully spike stripped and stopped after the use of a Pursuit Intervention Technique in Prospect.
34 year old Anthony Flores, who is a convicted felon, was arrested on numerous charges. The shotgun was recovered and found to have an obliterated serial number.
As the investigation continues, officers believe Flores was attempting to hide the shotgun when it accidentally discharged inside the vehicle.
