The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office partnered with 4 other agencies including the U.S. Marshals Office and the Oregon State Police to conduct a ‘focused sex offender sweep’ from August 14th, through the 16th.
Officials focused the operation on specific offenders in the region who were wanted or out of compliance with Oregon Revised Statutes pertaining to registration and other violations.
During the course of the sweep, a total of 27 arrests were made for various violations. Of the 27 arrests, 8 sex offenders were detained for failing to register and 19 other arrests were made for various offenses as well as outstanding warrants.
