According to the US National Weather Service, a series of winter storms are expected to impact the northwest coastal areas beginning today Tuesday, January 23rd.
Heavy rain is expected Tuesday through Wednesday with some totals reaching just under 4 inches.
These heavy rains may cause flooding of small streams, creeks and urban areas.
Strong winds are also expected with this event and downed trees are possible due to high winds and saturated soils.
The US National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning regarding the snowfall forecast from Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
Most of the snow accumulations occurring above 4500 feet with 12-18 inches over Crater Lake and 8-12 inches over Mt. Ashland.
These accumulations are just counting the snowfall from Tuesday evening into Wednesday evening. More snow is expected Thursday into Friday.
A series of weather events are poised across the Pacific and these conditions are likely to continue into the early next-next week.
