A series of four quakes rattled off the northern California coast Friday evening, November 10th, with two of the tremors being over 4.0 and the first quake of the series being the largest, registering 4.2 on the Richter scale.
The series of temblors began early Friday evening at approximately 7:15pm with a 4.2 magnitude quake about 45 miles southwest of Eureka, followed by a 3.0 magnitude quake just 30 minutes later and a 2.8 magnitude quake just before 8:00pm and then a fourth tremor more than 100 miles southwest of Eureka registering 4.1 on the Richter scale.
A tsunami was not generated and no tsunami warnings were issued.
