A series of five earthquakes shook the northern California coast Wednesday evening beginning with a 3.6 magnitude quake just after 11:00pm.
The first temblor, measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale, was 158 miles off the coast of Crescent City, and was followed by a 3.3 magnitude quake 177 miles off the coast of Pistol River just minutes later.
The next series of quakes occurred at 11:30pm with a 4.3 magnitude quake again 175 miles off the coast of Crescent City, a 4.1 magnitude quake 165 mile off of Pistol River and one more 3.4 temblor at 1:14am off of Crescent City.
A tsunami was not generated and no tsunami warnings were issued.
