Beginning before noon on Sunday, March 8th, a series of 7 quakes struck off of Eureka California.
The first temblor started at 11:23 am Sunday morning with a 2.6 magnitude quake 46 miles off the northern California coast at a depth of about a third of a mile.
The next quake was a 5.8 magnitude 53 miles and 1-1/2 miles deep off the coast at 7:10 pm Sunday night.
Two hours later at 9:10 pm Sunday night, a smaller 2.5 magnitude temblor struck 36 miles off the coast followed by a 2.9 magnitude 38 miles out at 10:01 pm and another 2.5 41 miles off the coast at 11:12 pm.
Just 20 minutes later at 11:32 pm Sunday night, a 4.9 magnitude quake struck 1-1/2 miles deep 57 miles off-shore.
As of 12:24 am early Monday morning a 2.5 magnitude shallow quake followed 36 miles off of Eureka.
