During the months of March and April, the Humboldt County Drug Task Force received information that an individual was traveling to Modesto California and purchasing large quantities of methamphetamine for the purpose of selling it in Humboldt County.


The individual, identified as 36 year old Miguel Angel Rodriguez Alicea from Fortuna, was observed by Humboldt County Drug Task Force Agents traveling from Humboldt County to Modesto, California.
Upon Alicea’s return, on Saturday, April 12th, Agents served a search warrant on Alicea after conducting a traffic stop on his vehicle as he entered Humboldt County.

Alicea was detained without incident and his vehicle was searched where 4 pounds of methamphetamine and 600 marijuana clones were located stored in the trunk of the vehicle by Humboldt County Drug Task Force Agents. .
Alicea was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on multiple charges including, Transportation of a controlled substance (noncontiguous counties), Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, and Possession of a kilogram or more of a controlled substance.
