A Crescent City Police unit was dispatched to reports of a possible intoxicated driver in the area of the library at approximately 11:00pm Wednesday evening.
The reported vehicle was located by the responding unit in the parking lot by the library. The driver, identified as 47 year old Isaac Cunningham from Crescent City, was then detained and questioned.
Crescent City Police K9 LT Kai was deployed for a free air “sniff” around the vehicle and alerted officers to the odor of narcotics in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle officers located approximately 17.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine that was packaged in several different baggies, along with hypodermic needles, and methamphetamine pipes.
Cunningham was arrested and later transported to the Del Norte County Jail for multiple violations.
