Crescent City Police Officers were dispatched to the Safeway Parking lot Thursday morning just after 8:30am, January 27th, regarding a report of a possible vehicle theft in progress.
Crescent City Police Officers found no evidence of vehicle theft upon arrival, however, officers were then alerted to a report of a possibly intoxicated subject driving a vehicle out of the parking lot.
The vehicle was quickly located as the officer witnessed the driver commit several violations and acting erratic while driving before being identified as 40 year old Ryan Wainscott.
Wainscott then attempted to flee from Officer Pearson by driving southbound on Highway 101 before eventually coming to a final stop, surrendering and being taken into custody and booked into the Del Norte County jail.
