Crescent City Police officers responded to a report of a male adult drinking alcohol in their vehicle in the area of E Street and Pacific Avenue early Wednesday evening, September 4th, at approximately 6:00pm.
First responding officers located 63 year old Emeterio Lopez with an open container of alcohol upon first contact, and Lt. Kai alerted to the presence of narcotics in Lopez’s vehicle after being deployed.
The subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 13 grams of methamphetamine. Lopez was then arrested for possession of an open container, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for sales.
He was then transported and booked in the Del Norte County Jail. The investigation is still on going and the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney for review.
