Red Flag Warning and Air Quality Advisories Remain in Effect in Early Work Week Forecast

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Monday afternoon causing an Air Quality Advisory for smoke to remain in effect due to wildfires
burning in the region.

Critical fire weather conditions are expected due to a combination of strong gusty winds and dry conditions and low humidities in western Siskiyou County and southwest Josephine County, the Scott Valley, Happy Camp, Seiad Valley and mountains in western Siskiyou County as well as the southern Illinois Valley south of Selma and surrounding mountains including the Siskiyous.

Inland Temperatures are forecast to remain relatively mild going into the workweek, however, air quality will also remain an issue as dry air is trapped in the valley. High temperatures will reach the upper 80’s and early morning lows are forecast to be in the mid 50’s.

Along coastal regions, patchy localized early morning fog with partly cloudy skies, and haze from surrounding area fires lasting to mid-week, before gusty offshore winds move into the area. Highs are expected to reach the mid to upper 70’s in some areas, with lows staying in the low 50’s.
