Medford police officers were dispatched to Providence Medical Center to investigate a stabbing victim being treated at that location.
It was determined that the location of the stabbing was Crater Lake Ave and the victim had been stabbed in the neck by a male that was unknown to him. The victim had been walking with his headphones on when the suspect approached him from behind and without warning attacked him.
The suspect was located in the area of Grace Christian School and the suspect fled from the police. The suspect later discarded the knife and was taken into custody on the Medford Center property. Medford Police Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
