Early Wednesday evening, August 28th, an earthquake struck off the northwestern coast at the intersection of the Blanco Fracture zone and the Gorda Escarpment
The quake struck approximately 40 miles southwest of Eureka, initially measuring 3.0 on on the Richter Scale and just over 17 miles deep.
The tremor did not developed a Tsunami, or Tsunami warnings.
