As reported earlier in the week, the US National Weather Service is advising that an “atmospheric river” is expected to bring several rounds of moderate to heavy rain Thursday through Sunday.
The first wave is expected Thursday afternoon and evening and will be followed by another round early Friday morning. Friday night into Saturday morning the main front is expected to move through bringing the strongest winds.
There may be some breaks in the rain, but in general cloudy skies will persist. Snow levels are expected to be above 7,000 feet through Saturday. Lower snow levels are possible on Sunday, but will remain above major pass level.
