Gold Beach High School’s Trenton Storns has signed a letter of intent to attend and play football for the Willamette University Bearcats in Salem, Oregon.
In fall, 2022, Trenton Storns will make his new home campus in Salem, Oregon, attending Willamette University and starting a new path in his athletic career. Gold Beach varsity football head coach Chris Higgins spoke of Trenton’s dedication and success in the classroom. “I’ve always preached to my players that they are students before athletes, but all credit to this us due to the Storns family, and Trenton himself.” coach Higgins said.
In his senior season for the Panthers, Storns started at quarterback offensively, recording 37 passing and rushing touchdowns total on the season. Defensively, Storns played safety, racking up 28.5 tackles and 3 interceptions.
Scholastically Trenton will be graduating in June with a 3.827 cumulative weighted GPA. “I have been fortunate enough get an offer, and have committed to playing college football for the Willamette University Bearcats this coming fall.” Storns told the Compass. “The coaching staff and players were all very welcoming and made me feel like I’d known them my entire life, and they are in the middle of building their football program back to the powerhouse it was. I want to be a part of that grind,” he continued, and “I’m super excited for what awaits me this fall… Go Bearcats!”
