Just before 7:30pm On Wednesday August 7th, the Brookings Fire Department was dispatched to the Pacific Wood Laminates mill for a dust bin on fire.
Arriving units secured a water supply and assisted the mill employees that had gotten a door to the bin open and were putting water indirectly on the fire keeping it in check.
Brookings fire units working with Harbor Fire units were able to get water to the seat of the fire and gained control at 8:16pm.
The fire was out at 8:41 p.m. There were 11 firefighters, 3 engines and 2 utility vehicles that responded.
