The Curry County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that during the annual Oregon State Sheriff’s Association Conference in Bend last week, Sergeant Ted Heath was awarded the Search and Rescue Manager of the Year for 2017 out of thirty-six counties in the State of Oregon.
Along with being the Marine Patrol Sergeant, Ted Heath took over as the Curry County Search and Rescue Coordinator in October 2014 and this year he was nominated by other counties to be the Search and Rescue Manager of the year for 2017. Curry County has kept very busy with high profile search and rescue incidents including the Chetco Bar Fire. Sergeant Heath has done a fine job organizing search and rescue efforts for Curry County and assisting with California Oregon Regional Search and Rescue.
Sergeant Ted Heath also celebrated and recognized by Sheriff Ward and the Curry County BOC for thirty years of continuous employment with the Sheriff’s Office and service to Curry County.
