Positive COVID-19 cases continue to rise as more individuals are tested and Oregon added 2,979 more confirmed cases last week, 565 more cases than the past week.
Almost half of all of Oregons new COVID-19 cases came on Thursday and Friday, both breaking single day new cases first on Thursday with 575, and then again on Friday with 600 new confirmed COVID-19 cases statewide.
As a state, Oregon now has 44,388 confirmed cases, and of those cases, 3,204 individuals required hospitalization. 2,008 of the weeks 2,279 new cases, or 67%, came from 5 northern counties surrounding the Portland area.
Curry County’s latest report Friday, October 30th, now reports testing 2,441 individuals with 2,381 negative tests, and now has 5 active confirmed cases of COVID-19. Curry County has 54 recovered cases and has recorded 1 death.
Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services reported testing 9,496 individuals with 9,315 negative results, 181 total confirmed cases, only 3 active cases reported to Public Health, with no current hospitalizations and 1 death.
Humboldt County to the south of Del Norte County reports 571 total cases, adding 9 new CoVID-19 cases in the past week after testing 35,451 individuals with now 14 active cases, 547 recoveries, 37 hospitalizations, one new death in the past week totaling now 10 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic as of Friday, October 30th.
Coos County to the north, reported testing 9,202 individuals with 9,010 negative tests, adding 26 new cases of COVID-19 in the past week with now 262 total positive cases and 1 death since the beginning of the pandemic.
Josephine County reports testing 15,012 individuals with 14,775 negative results, adding 11 new cases in the past week, 273 total positive cases of COVID-19 and 3 deaths.
Jackson County continues to see significant increases after reporting another 78 cases of COVID-19 this past week after testing 44,007 individuals with 42,269 negative test results, 1,865 total cases of COVID-19, one new death in the past week totaling 7 deaths as of Friday, October 30th.
