Grants Pass Police Officers responded to the scene of a shooting near the M Street Market Thursday morning just before 9:00am.
After first responders located a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound, the suspect was then quickly located armed with a firearm.
The incident quickly escalated and culminated in an officer-involved shooting. Both the victim and suspect were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds and were last reported in serious but stable condition.
SE M Street from SE N Street to SE Green Briar Lane was closed until the conclusion of the Oregon State Police investigation.
None of the responding officers were injured, and there is no further danger to the community from this incident.
